Happy Halloween!

I LOVE halloween. Growing up, my own mother would throw massive halloween parties for us and our friends and we’d all go around in a large group for a bit of ‘Trick or Treating’.

I’ve been getting into the Halloween spirit this week by placing cute sparkly pumpkins around my home and hanging pumpkin fairy lights from the fireplace.

Is it just me or has Halloween died a bit since the 90’s? No one seems to go out Trick or Treating any more. I always pop out a carved pumpkin and have sweets at the ready but last year we only got ONE family knock at the door.  (Can’t really complain, more sweets for me I suppose – someone’s got to eat them!)

I was planning to take the Gruesome Twosome Trick or Treating this evening but decided to take them along to an evening library session instead for a bit of spooky story telling and song singing. They’ve asked children to come in their PJ’s or outfits and bring a teddy… Here’s what my two are going in…

(All pyjamas, cuddly toys and accessories are from Sainsburys)

Maybe we’ll attempt Trick or Treating next year when the squiddlies are a bit older.

Are you going Trick or Treating this evening? Let me know what you’ve got planned!

We only had one group of kids knock on the door, but it was a bigger group than last year, so I’m optimistic that Halloween will eventually take off here! I love it! I bet your kids looked adorable in their spooky pjs. Happy Halloween!

My toddler was sick with a cold and ear infection yesterday so we stayed home last night (after visiting the doctor and pharmacy during the day). I grew up LOVING Halloween because our neighborhood was super active and we were able to trick-or-treat successfully and come home with tons of candy! 🙂
