Birchbox Advent Calendar Review – Days 13-24

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas! I’m back again reviewing the second half of my Birchbox Advent Calendar.

In a nutshell, my darling better half treated me to this Calendar. It consists of 24 numbered boxes and each box contains a beauty product. I’ve been unboxing these daily over on my Insta Stories and now I’m sharing my honest reviews on each product received.

Carrying on from Days 1-12, here’s what I received in boxes 13-24 and what I thought after trying out each item…

makeup and beauty

13. Caudalie Eye Lifting Balm
Not my favourite eye cream… feels a little sticky even a few minutes after applying. This came in a bigger box and I’ve no idea why, as the sample is tiny. (Bigger boxes make me assume I’ll find bigger products so I was left a little disappointed).

14. Benefit, The POREfessional
I’ve been hearing good things about this product so was very happy to finally try it out. Looks and feels lovely on my skin and does what it says!

15. Number4 Lumiere d’hiver Fluoro5 Elixer Restore and Repair Oil (for hair)
A nice fine-feeling oil. Makes my hair feel instantly soft and hydrated.

16. Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black
I’m far too in love with my Benefit mascaras to be fairly reviewing other ma but mascara brands but I’ll try… A nice mascara, but not as good as Benefit. Giving this away to my sister.

17. Nailtiques Formula 2 Nail Protein
This smells soooo strong of nail polish. I have acrylics so I have no use for this. It says it’s good for repairing weak, bitten nails so this too shall be going to my little sister (who is the worst nail biter ever!)

18. Show Beauty Hair Fragrance
This is the full size product and RRP’s at £55! That is almost what the Advent Calendar cost! I’d describe the scent as fruity/smokey.

19. Bliss Snowberry Hand Cream with Shea Butter
I’m really not a big Shea Butter fan. I’m not keen on the smell at all. None the less, this is quite a nice hand cream and soaks in really quickly. It doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy at all.

20. Laqa & Co Eyelighter
This colour is stunning. I’m going to wear this on Christmas day. It is so shiny and golden! It also stays put really well, goes on as a cream but dries as a powder.

21. Lord and Berry Lipstick in Vogue Red
Love love love this. The colour scared me at first as it’s the brightest red I’ve ever seen but I’ve loved wearing it and it’s certainly made me feel festive.

22. Dr Paw Paw Original Multipurpose Balm
I’ve received this in a previous Birchbox and love it. You can you this anywhere; skin, hands, lips and even hair! This natural balm is brilliant.

23. Smith & Cult Nail Laquer
I can’t review this fairly as I have Shellac on my finger and toe nails. It RRP’s on their shop for £19 and has amazing reviews so it looks like a very good polish.

24. EcoTools Beauty Blender
I needed a new beauty blender so I was very happy to receive this on the last day. Soft and squidgy, applies my makeup perfectly.

I’ve really enjoyed my Advent Calendar, a really nice change from chocolate. I’ll definitely be opting for a beauty box calendar again next December.
